BAA, BAA BLACK SHEEP - THREE BAGS FULL!

BAA, BAA BLACK SHEEP - THREE BAGS FULL!

January 10, 2025 – Sea Day – 7AM – 79 degrees, 82 % Humidity, Winds NNW 11.4 MPH

We sent out our first batch of laundry. Like the nursery rhyme, it was “3 bags full” since we hadn’t sent any laundry out previously. We won’t have that much again. We paid for Unlimited Laundry Service and can send it out every day if we wish. Some cruise lines (Princess, Oceania) offer self-service laundry, but Holland America does not. What’s the expression “try it once, you’ll never go back” – that’s certainly true after our first ship’s laundry experience. We had a choice of Hanging or Folded, so we sent one bag of “Hanging” (3 shirts for John and a linen top for me) and 2 bags of Folded - underwear , t-shirts, socks, pj’s and slacks for John; t-shirts, nightgown and undies for me - that's what they call them on the Laundry List. John had to convince me about the undies, I really didn’t want to send them to a public laundry, I’m sure they didn’t find my undies very exciting – TMI?.

We sent it yesterday and it was on the bed this morning when we returned from breakfast! We weren’t sure what to expect but it surpassed any expectations! All the folder items were pressed and folded – t-shirts, underwear, pajamas). The Hanging items were pressed too – I wasn’t sure they’ be pressed because we paid for Laundry Service, not Dry Cleaning & Pressing. Incredible, every day John is more convinced to sell the house and cruise full-time- he will not be getting pressed underwear and T-shirts at home!
